Description

You will provide L1 support for big data systems, ensuring operational stability and efficient data processing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance and health of data pipelines, clusters, and storage systems.
• Respond to alerts and apply basic troubleshooting steps to resolve data-related issues.
• Escalate complex problems to L2/L3 support teams or senior engineers with relevant context.
• Follow predefined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for incident management.
• Document incident reports, solutions, and preventive measures.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in Big Data Engineering or L1 support roles.
• Foundational knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, Hive, and Kafka.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix commands for log analysis and troubleshooting.
• Scripting skills in Python or Bash.
• Experience working within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of distributed computing systems and operational challenges.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios or Grafana.
• Knowledge of incident management processes (ITIL or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to ETL processes and data pipeline management.
• Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA, ServiceNow, or Remedy.
