Description

You will build and maintain data pipelines and services to process large-scale genomic and proteomic datasets.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain bioinformatics data pipelines using Python, Perl, and Apache Airflow.
• Develop bioinformatics tools and services, including those utilizing BLAST.
• Optimize ETL and CRUD operations for efficient ingestion and transformation of massive biological datasets.
• Build SQL scripts and PL/SQL procedures for relational database manipulation.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes on cloud platforms.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in bioinformatics or related software engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, and Java.
• Experience with workflow management using Apache Airflow.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, specifically MongoDB.
• Proficiency with Java web services and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Understanding of genomics, proteomics, and gene expression analysis.
• Familiarity with experimental techniques such as PCR, CRISPR, and ELISA.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Apache Solr or other search engines.
• Experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop.
