Description

You will manage ELT processes, FHIR/HL7 interoperability, and data integration to support SmileCDR operations and CMS ONC mandates.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot ELT pipelines, data quality, and ingestion issues across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Map source data to FHIR R4 resources, profiles, and implementation guides (PDex, Patient Access API).
• Translate business requirements into data specifications, API requirements, and process workflows with architects.
• Conduct end-to-end validation of ELT pipelines, FHIR resources, and cross-system data reconciliation.
• Develop data dictionaries, mapping documents, and governance artifacts aligned with interoperability standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst with exposure to data engineering or healthcare data systems.
• Strong knowledge of ELT processes, SQL, JSON, and APIs.
• Hands-on understanding of FHIR R4, HL7, and healthcare data (claims, clinical, member, provider).
• Experience with data mapping, transformation logic, and source-to-target specifications.
• Proficiency in Kafka and Apache Flink for streaming frameworks.
• Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) for modeling and transformations.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with SmileCDR, HAPI FHIR, or similar interoperability platforms.
• Exposure to data observability platforms like Monte Carlo or modern data lakehouse engines (Apache Iceberg, Starburst).
• Industry knowledge of CMS ONC Interoperability, Patient Access API, and payer-to-payer exchange requirements.
