Business Analyst

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience, including:
• Requirements gathering and documentation
• Functional specifications development
• Requirements traceability management
• Business process analysis and improvement
• Workflow automation initiatives
• Process modeling and documentation
• Test script development
• Implementation and transition planning
• Production support activities
• Cross-functional team collaboration
• Minimum 5 years of experience working within Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting end users in a production environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience facilitating and collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.

Minimum 3 years of experience creating complex requirements documentation, including:

• Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs)
• Use Cases
• User Stories
• As-Is and To-Be Process Flows
• Narrative Requirements Documentation
• Minimum 3 years of experience working independently while meeting deadlines and solving complex business problems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with process analysis, systems analysis, process architecture methodologies, and project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience using SQL or similar query tools for data analysis.
• 3+ years of experience applying requirements management best practices.
• 3+ years of experience developing training materials and conducting end-user training.
• 2+ years of experience refining and improving requirements management methodologies.
• 2+ years of experience facilitating Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions and collaborative workshops.
• 2+ years of experience mentoring junior Business Analysts.
• 2+ years of experience working with California State Government IT organizations.
• 2+ years of experience working with California Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) processes and documentation
