Description

Partner with finance stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for custom financial systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
• Collaborate with developers, system architects, and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Analyze existing financial processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
• Support the implementation and configuration of financial modules (GL, AP/AR, budgeting, grants, forecasting).
• Develop test plans, execute UAT, and document results while creating user documentation and training materials.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in finance or financial systems.
• Strong understanding of general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, and grants.
• 5+ years working with custom-built or configurable financial systems.
• 5+ years proficiency in data analysis tools including Excel, SQL, and Visio.
• 4+ years familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies (Scrum, Sprint).
• 4+ years experience in analyzing issues, problem-solving, and communication.
• Ability to translate complex financial rules into technical requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Financials) and knowledge of financial data modeling.
• Certifications such as CBAP, CFA, CPA, or PMI-PBA.
• Understanding of APIs, ETL tools, and integration between finance modules.
