Lead business systems analysis and design for IT projects, translating complex needs into actionable technical requirements.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions, stakeholder interviews, and cross-functional workshops to define business objectives.
• Document current-state processes and perform gap analysis to design future-state workflows.
• Develop comprehensive business, functional, and non-functional requirements packages.
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability matrices.
• Partner with business leaders and technical teams to drive process optimization.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects valued at $2M or more.
• 3+ years in business systems analysis and design.
• 3+ years of experience with application triage, troubleshooting, and project management tasks.
• 2+ years of recent experience as a business analyst in documentation, requirements analysis, or process re-engineering.
• 3+ years of experience using requirements management tools like JIRA.
• 3+ years of experience analyzing legislative mandates or regulatory changes and their impact on system requirements.
• 2+ years of experience with the California Department of Technology’s Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL), specifically Stages 3 and 4.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university.
