Description
You will install, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Mount and install racks, patch panels, fiber optic cabling, and hardware.
- Terminate indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber using LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors.
- Perform continuity tests on horizontal and riser cable using a volt-ohmmeter and tone set.
- Troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs.
- Calculate end-to-end loss budgets in accordance with TIA/EIA standards.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in cable installation and termination.
- Proficiency with both multi-mode and single-mode fiber.
- Basic copper termination skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot horizontal and riser cable issues.
- Knowledge of TIA standards for loss budget calculations.
- Any graduate degree.
