Description

You will manage and optimize Cassandra clusters and RDBMS environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Cassandra clusters and data models.
• Diagnose and resolve complex database problems and performance issues.
• Implement high availability solutions and enforce enterprise architecture standards.
• Build data architecture models and monitor system performance.
• Communicate technical issues to management and coach team members.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience as a physical DBA on the Cassandra platform.
• 5+ years of experience as a physical DBA with a major RDBMS technology.
• Deep understanding of Cassandra architecture, including gossip protocol, hinted handoffs, read repairs, Merkle trees, and SEDA.
• Knowledge of replica placement strategies, partitions, snitches, and dynamic ring participation.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL.
• 2+ years of experience in database/application performance tuning and monitoring.
• B.S. degree from an accredited university.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience coding or debugging stored procedures.
• Experience in railroad application system development.
