Description

Build and maintain software solutions for Charles River platforms using a craftsman-like engineering approach within an Agile environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality code through collaborative practices including code review, pairing, and unit testing.
• Apply Test-Driven Development to write simple, adaptive, and iterative code.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, Traders, and other engineering teams.
• Improve engineering processes and instill excellence across the development lifecycle.
• Utilize DevOps culture and continuous integration to deploy reliable solutions.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge in one or more programming languages: C#, Python, or Java.
• Proficiency on Linux platforms and various scripting languages.
• In-depth knowledge of design patterns and programming styles such as OO and functional.
• Experience building containerized applications and deploying to public or private clouds (AWS or Azure).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, EC2, ECS clusters, and Step Functions.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies such as SQL Server, Sybase, DynamoDB, or Postgres.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Order Management and Charles River products or Charles River upgrades.
• Front office software development experience at an Asset Manager, Hedge Fund, or Investment Bank.
