Description

You will manage and maintain CICS Transaction Server environments in a production setting.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and upgrade CICS Transaction Server regions, including single, MR0, or CICSPlex environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues using system diagnostics, dump reading, and performance monitors.
• Administer CICSPlex environments using the Web-User-Interface to manage transaction route rules and real-time analysis.
• Install, customize, and maintain third-party products such as Compuware Abend-Aid/CICS, Xpeditor, CAF, and MacKinney Batch.
• Execute upgrade activities for CICS, CPSM, or CTG and participate in annual Disaster Recovery exercises.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in CICS administration.
• Proven capability building and upgrading CICS Transaction Server regions in production.
• Deep proficiency with SMP/E commands, terminology, and problem determination.
• Experience using IBM tools for problem identification, including IBMLink, SIS, and ETR.
• Ability to read and interpret CICS system dumps.
• Hands-on experience with performance monitors like CA-Sysview, Omegamon, and TMON.
• Skill in creating reports using Tivoli and SMF data regarding CPU usage, storage, and I/O counts.
• Familiarity with CICSPlex administration and transaction route rules.
