Description

You will manage, tune, and maintain CICS regions across multiple systems and LPARs.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain CICS regions while analyzing system logs and performing problem determination.
• Define and maintain CICS system tables and execute installation, upgrades, and maintenance for CICS and related products.
• Analyze dumps and trace entries for problem determination and perform performance tuning on CICS regions.
• Support web applications in a CICS TS V5 environment using z/OS and CICS Explorer.
• Apply Incident, Change, and Problem Management practices to resolve issues.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience as a CICS System Programmer.
• Deep knowledge of CICS parameters for performance tuning in CICSPlex environments.
• Experience with CICSPlex SMF record structures, SMF implementation, customization, and dynamic transaction routing.
• Proficiency with the CICS Performance Analyzer tool.
• Working knowledge of z/OS, TSO, ISPF, SMP/E, DB2, JCL, and basic COBOL scripting.
• Experience with Assembler and COBOL coding for CICS Exits.
• Understanding of z/OS facilities including APF, Linklist, VSAM, LPA, and Coupling Facility.
• Hands-on use of z/OS and CICS Explorer.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Mainframe MQ Administration.
