Description

You will lead civil and structural engineering for natural gas capital projects, focusing on the Muskegon River and Overisel Compressor Stations.

Responsibilities

• Scope civil engineering design and construction requirements for capital projects.
• Contract engineering services and assist project managers in securing construction services.
• Provide technical leadership and engineering reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project closeout activities, including record drawings and test records.
• Report project status, risks to scope, quality, cost, and schedule to supervisors.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in civil and structural design.
• Working knowledge of site design, stormwater management, and foundation design.
• Experience with pre-engineered metal building design and structural steel design.
• Proficiency in storage tank design and environmental permitting (wetlands, soil erosion, culverts).
• Ability to coordinate and develop contract documents, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Working knowledge of IBC/MBC, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, AWS D1.1, and ASCE 7.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Ability to work in heavy industrial environments, including climbing ladders and entering tight spaces.

Preferred Skills

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Specific design experience in the aforementioned technical topics.
