Description

Lead the migration of on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS RDS and manage the conversion of specific databases to PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS RDS.
• Convert select databases from Oracle and SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Develop and execute migration strategies including planning, design, and implementation.
• Perform technical planning, architecture development, and modification of cloud computing specifications.
• Collaborate with in-house database support teams to transfer knowledge and ensure environment maintainability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in database migration and cloud architecture.
• Extensive experience with AWS RDS, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and Schema Conversion Tool (SCT).
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure including IAM, EC2, S3, VPC, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell for task automation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
• Knowledge of database security best practices and data governance requirements.
