Description

Architect and lead cloud data solutions on Azure and AWS, defining lakehouse patterns and medallion architectures for enterprise clients.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data architectures across ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics layers.
• Lead technical discovery sessions and workshops to translate business requirements into solution blueprints.
• Review pipeline designs, data models, and implementation approaches to mitigate technical risks.
• Create effort estimates, statements of work, and solution proposals for client engagements.
• Mentor data engineers and junior architects while establishing best practices for the practice.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or data architecture.
• 3+ years of hands-on cloud data experience on Azure and/or AWS.
• Strong expertise in at least one modern data platform: Databricks, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Production experience implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold zoning).
• Proficiency with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg.
• Knowledge of incremental processing and data quality frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DataOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), and tools like Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or dbt.
• Consulting, professional services, or pre-sales background.
• Familiarity with data governance platforms and real-time/streaming architectures.
