Description

Own the solution architecture, DevOps assessment, and implementation of upgrades for critical myCalPERS applications.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing applications and define roadmaps for architectural upgrades and enhancements.
• Assess current CI/CD infrastructure, monitoring, security, and compliance to identify bottlenecks and technical debt.
• Develop prioritized improvement roadmaps (short, medium, long term) and recommend refactoring based on new technologies.
• Implement CI/CD pipeline enhancements, automated build/test/deployment workflows, and secrets management.
• Improve observability stacks through better monitoring and logging, and optimize cloud scaling and cost efficiency.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of expert-level experience as a DevOps Architect and System Integrator.
• 10+ years of experience as a Solution Architect for complex enterprise-scale applications.
• 5+ years of experience supporting applications on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Proven track record implementing solutions using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
• Experience in infrastructure and architecture of public pension systems or similar regulated environments.
• Strong background in cloud platforms, CI/CD infrastructure, and legacy platform modernization.
• Ability to develop technical documentation, standards, and best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with Regression Automation teams to ensure adequate testing suites.
• Background in delivering training or knowledge transfer sessions to team members.
