Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing and maintaining security configurations across Azure services and Landing Zones.
• Support platform security components including Azure Firewall, NSGs, ASGs, Private Endpoints, Virtual Networks, and routing/segmentation.
• Support platform hardening activities and participate in secure by design reviews.
• Contribute to security monitoring and incident support by monitoring and triaging alerts from Defender for Cloud and Sentinel, escalating when necessary.
• Assist senior engineers in investigating platform-level security events.
• Support improvement of detection rules, dashboards, and reporting.
• Support identity & access controls using Azure RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM), including access reviews, entitlement hygiene, and platform-level identity audits.
• Help enforce identity requirements such as MFA and Conditional Access.
• Assist with governance & compliance by applying and monitoring Azure Policy, tagging standards, and platform guardrails.
• Assist with compliance checks against frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks and ISO 27001, and maintain platform documentation, configuration baselines, and audit evidence.
• Contribute to foundational automation tasks using PowerShell and Terraform (training provided), supporting continuous improvement of security tooling and automated checks.
• Work closely with cloud engineers, architects, and Cyber Ops teams; participate in platform security reviews, change boards, and engineering stand-ups.
• Stay updated on new Azure security features and evolving cloud threats; engage in structured learning paths and certification development.

Skills Required:

• Demonstrates foundational experience in cloud security and Azure platform services.
• Possesses working knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel for monitoring and threat detection.
• Shows familiarity with Terraform and PowerShell for automation and configuration management.
• Exhibits understanding of network security components such as firewalls and segmentation controls.
• Applies knowledge of identity and access management including RBAC and PIM.
• Demonstrates awareness of governance, compliance frameworks, and security best practices.
• Shows strong analytical and problem-solving skills in security operations.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with cross-functional teams.

Education:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in IT, cybersecurity, cloud operations, or a related field
