Description

You will lead infrastructure and cloud migration efforts into AWS GovCloud.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Validate pre-work for infrastructure, networking, and application readiness for AWS GovCloud migration.
• Own the end-to-end migration process, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Identify risks and provide technical leadership for remediation efforts.
• Facilitate Go/No-Go meetings, assess cutover criteria, and implement rollback procedures.
• Lead the hypercare phase, focusing on performance tuning and incident response.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience focusing on infrastructure, cloud engineering, and system migrations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, specifically in AWS GovCloud (US).
• Proven success leading end-to-end cloud migration projects in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Deep understanding of compliance: FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and ITAR.
• Experience with automation and scripting using Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with container platforms (ECS, EKS, Docker) and serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Familiarity with AWS CloudTrail and third-party monitoring tools.
