Description

Own cloud cost optimization, forecasting, and governance across AWS and GCP environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize costs across public cloud platforms with a focus on GCP and AWS.
• Design and maintain chargeback/show-back models to ensure accurate cost allocation to business units.
• Manage reserved instances, Savings Plans, and Committed Use Discounts to maximize utilization and savings.
• Create dashboards and reports for technical and business stakeholders, including budget alerts and forecasting.
• Drive automation of cost reporting, anomaly detection, and governance controls alongside cloud administrators.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in FinOps or cloud cost management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP pricing, billing, and commitment models.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
• Strong understanding of cloud cost management platforms (e.g., Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth).
• Ability to build accurate cloud cost forecasts in partnership with Finance teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and executive reporting.

Preferred Skills

• FinOps Certifications (Certified Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner).
• Foundational cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner or GCP Associate Cloud Engineer).
