Good to Have Skills: Certification from major cloud vendors or FinOps Foundation. Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or similar platforms. Working knowledge of showback/chargeback methodologies, financial reporting, forecasting, amortization, unit cost analysis, and commitment-based savings programs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor cloud consumption, costs, and resource utilization across cloud environments and analyze usage patterns to identify optimization opportunities.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of major cloud platforms with solid understanding of compute, storage, networking, and pricing models.
- Apply FinOps principles including cost allocation, showback/chargeback, budgeting, forecasting, amortization, and unit cost analysis.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and tracking of cloud budgets and forecasts ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytical models to provide visibility into cloud spending.
- Partner with engineering, product, operations, and finance teams to improve cost accountability and promote efficient cloud consumption practices.
- Support cloud governance initiatives by helping define and monitor tagging compliance, cost allocation structures, and financial controls.
- Communicate cost drivers, trends, risks, and optimization recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contribute to the evaluation and tracking of cloud savings initiatives including rightsizing, resource optimization, and commitment-based savings programs.
- Stay current with cloud platform enhancements, pricing updates, FinOps best practices, and emerging industry trends.
Experience Required: 3-5 years of experience in Cloud FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, Technology Finance, or a related analytical role. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to interpret complex datasets and present actionable insights.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
