Description

You will manage, automate, and maintain enterprise-scale Unix/Linux infrastructure across on-prem and virtualized environments. This role ensures operational stability, security compliance, and efficient lifecycle management for production-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot SUSE, AIX, RHEL, and CentOS servers, managing system builds, upgrades, and lifecycle events.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash and Python to streamline operational tasks and deployments.
• Utilize Ansible for configuration management and support infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.
• Manage OS patching and compliance via RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, or SUSE Manager to meet security standards.
• Administer VMware and OpenShift virtual machine environments, including cloning, migration, and remote administration.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Hands-on expertise with SUSE, AIX, RHEL, and CentOS platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with configuration management tools, specifically Ansible.
• Knowledge of patch management tools: RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, or SUSE Manager.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms: VMware and OpenShift.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, and routing.
• Experience implementing OS hardening, access controls, and security compliance.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Background in supporting distributed system environments.
