Description

You will own the operability, resiliency, and performance of production Linux/Unix services in a high-performance cloud operations team.

Responsibilities

• Administer day-to-day operations of Linux/Unix servers, including Suse, AIX, RHEL, and CentOS.
• Troubleshoot application issues alongside application administrators and guide them on standard infrastructure methodologies.
• Manage system monitoring, patching, upgrades, hardware diagnostics, and capacity planning.
• Maintain comprehensive system documentation and ensure security compliance through OS hardening and access controls.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Deep proficiency with Suse, AIX, RHEL, and CentOS for installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with OpenShift and Terraform.
• Scripting proficiency in Bash and Python; experience with automation tools like Ansible.
• Understanding of RedHat Satellite, IBM NIM, or SUSE Manager for patch management.
• Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, and remote administration.
• Experience with virtual machine management (VMware) and system migration.

Preferred Skills

• Operational experience with Ansible and Terraform.
