Cloud SQL DBA

Lead the migration of SQL applications from on-premises to Google Cloud as part of a multi-year initiative.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the migration of SQL applications from on-prem to GCP and AWS, creating architectural plans and setting up repositories.
• Develop and maintain automation pipelines using PowerShell and Terraform to handle build-outs and deployments.
• Create and refine playbooks for migration, ensuring artifacts are either improved or developed from scratch.
• Manage maintenance, troubleshooting, and environment stability for the cloud SQL infrastructure.
• Train on current on-prem environments to support legacy maintenance tasks during downtime.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA with a focus on operations.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Familiarity with GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipeline management.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS.
• Proven track record in on-prem to cloud migration projects.
• Ability to design architectural plans for application deployment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a team environment with multiple Line of Business (LOB) partnerships.
• Background in building migration artifacts from scratch.
