Description

You will develop, test, and maintain COBOL/CICS/DB2 applications for online and batch environments, including migration efforts.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain COBOL, CICS, and DB2 applications for online and batch systems.
• Handle analysis, coding, unit testing, and migration of legacy applications.
• Troubleshoot production and test issues, including CICS abends, DB2 SQL errors, and timeouts.
• Develop CICS web services using SOAP/REST and expose APIs via IBM z/OS Connect.

Required Skills

• 7+ years hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, and DB2.
• Strong knowledge of CICS application programming, including COMMAREA and CICS screens.
• Experience creating/exposing APIs using IBM z/OS Connect.
• Proficiency in API testing tools such as Postman, Ready API, or SoapUI.
• Familiarity with MQ or other middleware platforms.
• Experience with COBOL copybook to JSON mapping and service enablement.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in modernization or integration projects.
