Description

Develop and maintain core mainframe applications using COBOL, translating design specifications into structured programs.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Translate design specifications into structured COBOL programs.
• Maintain and enhance custom software, including batch processing, reports, and user screens.
• Execute and validate test changes, ensuring program correctness against requirements.
• Identify and correct data errors through application logic and develop data analysis reports.
• Prepare program-level and user-level documentation for the software lifecycle.

Required Skills

• 5+ years experience in COBOL development on Mainframe.
• Proficiency with JCL development and maintenance on IBM/DELL mainframe operating systems.
• Proven experience with DB2, JCL, and Control-M.
• 5+ years experience with Postgres DB.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with AWS.
• Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug computer software.
• Strong analytical skills for non-database functions and data error correction.
• Java programming knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kofax.
