Description

You will develop and maintain core mainframe applications using COBOL, translating design documents into structured programs and enhancing custom software including batch processes and reports.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate design documents and specifications into structured COBOL programs for mainframe environments.
• Maintain and enhance custom software, including data entry screens, batch processes, reports, and menus.
• Review existing code and business processes to support non-database functions and ensure correctness.
• Execute and verify test changes, troubleshooting and debugging software to meet requirements.
• Assist in the conversion of legacy COBOL applications to web-based architectures.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in COBOL development on Mainframe.
• Proven experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and Control-M.
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from design through deployment.
• Strong analytical skills for data error correction and report generation.
• Experience preparing program-level and user-level documentation.
• Capability to adhere to source code management and deployment procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot and debug computer software to meet functional requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Java, AWS, and Postgres DB for legacy modernization projects.
