Description

You will maintain and develop two core systems: a general ledger application handling account payments, checks, EFT, and disbursements, and an internally developed agent compensation system.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and implement modifications or new processes across both COBOL-based systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot batch processes using DOS .bat files that feed into applications.
• Manage heavy batch file workloads, SQL operations, and COBOL logic.
• Document system processes and workflows to support knowledge transfer and modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to resolve technical issues.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software development and systems analysis.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL development.
• Experience with JCL, DB2, and SQL Server (queries, data integration, etc.).
• Solid understanding of accounting principles including payables, general ledger, receivables, and agent compensation.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Any Graduate degree.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the insurance industry involving policy administration, claims, or accounting.
• Background with IAS, Java, Roscoe, or TSO.
