Description

You will modernize legacy mainframe systems by extracting business logic and mapping dependencies for cloud migration.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Deep-dive into COBOL, JCL, and SQL codebases to extract business logic and map module dependencies.
• Verify AI-generated analysis and reverse-engineering results as the primary human-in-the-loop.
• Provide technical and business context to AI Code Agents to ensure accurate migration outcomes.
• Create documentation detailing legacy workflows for the cloud engineering team.
• Translate technical requirements between mainframe systems and cloud-native engineers.

Required Skills

• Expert ability to read, navigate, and document complex COBOL, JCL, and SQL.
• Experience with legacy flat files and DB2 queries.
• Strong systemic thinking regarding mainframe module interactions and hidden dependencies.
• Meticulous attention to detail when validating automated logic.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Any Graduate education required.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AI Code Generators/Analyzers (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Basic understanding of modern architectures like Microservices, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
