Description

This role requires extensive experience developing and maintaining legacy mainframe systems in COBOL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using COBOL.
• Extract and manage data using IDMS database systems.
• Convert EBCDIC data to ASCII format.
• Debug and resolve complex issues within legacy systems.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL development.
• Strong knowledge of IDMS database systems, including data extraction.
• Proficiency in COBOL programming.
• Familiarity with JCL for batch job creation and execution.
• Experience with mainframe environments and tools.
• Proven experience in data conversion (EBCDIC to ASCII).
• Skilled in file handling and data manipulation techniques.
• Ability to debug and resolve complex system issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
