Description

You will design, develop, and maintain Micro Focus COBOL batch and online applications, ensuring technical solutions align with business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug batch jobs and online programs using Micro Focus COBOL.
• Manage job schedules and automation using CA Workload Automation (WLA) and PowerShell scripts.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures in MS SQL Server and Oracle.
• Conduct code reviews and adhere to coding standards while coordinating with QA and operations for releases.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in COBOL development, specifically with Micro Focus Enterprise Developer or Enterprise Server.
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server and Oracle Database, including performance tuning and data validation.
• Experience with file handling (Flat files, Indexed, VSAM equivalents) and debugging complex batch/online issues.
• Proficiency in Windows batch scripting and PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git/SVN) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
