Description

You will develop, maintain, and optimize COBOL applications on mainframe systems for a 3-month contract.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Convert analysis and design documents into well-structured COBOL programs.
• Modify and test user data entry screens, batch processes, reports, queries, and menus.
• Conduct code and process reviews for non-database functions.
• Identify and correct data errors through refined application logic and detailed analysis.
• Assist in transitioning COBOL applications to web-based platforms and optimize software performance.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in COBOL development and JCL development/maintenance on mainframe systems.
• Proficiency with DB2, JCL, and Control-M.
• In-depth understanding of the full SDLC, including design, development, integration testing, and deployment.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills for software accuracy.
• Experience preparing technical and non-technical documentation.
• Ability to follow organizational guidelines for source code management and migration.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Java programming.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with Postgres Database and Kofax.
