Description

Develop and maintain custom software solutions on IBM/DELL mainframe operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate analysis, design documents, and specifications into well-structured COBOL programs.
• Maintain and enhance custom software by modifying batch processing, reports, queries, menus, and user data entry screens.
• Execute program changes, update test files, and conduct testing to ensure correctness against requirements.
• Identify and correct data errors through application logic and develop data analysis/summary reports.
• Prepare program-level and user-level documentation to support the software development lifecycle.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in COBOL development on Mainframe.
• Proficiency in JCL development and maintenance.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 and Control-M.
• Strong understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including design, integration testing, and deployment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, and debug software to achieve required outcomes.
• Experience with data analysis and generating summary reports using IBM and Microsoft tools.
• Ability to follow organizational procedures for source code management and change migration.

Preferred Skills

• Java programming knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Postgres DB and Kofax experience.
