Description

You will develop and maintain complex reporting solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design and build complex dashboards, multidimensional reports, and report bursting using Cognos tools.
• Migrate legacy BI solutions from Series 6 to Cognos 8/10/11 and convert reports to Tableau or Power BI.
• Develop and manage data models, including dimensional (star/snowflake) and relational schemas.
• Execute ETL processes, perform data mapping, transformation, and validate end-to-end data flows.
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and troubleshoot Cognos-generated SQL.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in BI development and data warehousing.
• Advanced proficiency in IBM Cognos Analytics (11.x): Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio, Framework Manager, Dynamic Cube, Transformer.
• Expertise in dimensional modeling (star/snowflake) and relational database design.
• Strong command of SQL and PL/SQL, including writing stored procedures and triggers.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data quality validation.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and IBM DB2 environments.
• Familiarity with MDX and query debugging specific to Cognos.
• Experience with data profiling and cleansing techniques.

Preferred Skills

• Competency in Tableau and Power BI for data modeling and dashboarding.
• Programming experience in Python, R, Java, C, or C++.
