Description

This is a 12-week internship focused on the engineering efforts of the Materia Computational Design platform.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the evolution of the Materia geometry cloud compute service and visual coding applications.
• Design, build, deliver, and test components of the core compute engine and cloud service infrastructure.
• Collaborate with integration partners to achieve Industry Cloud goals.
• Perform QA and testing on the Materia compute service and visual coding applications.
• Apply full stack technologies and agile software methodologies to real-world projects.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering at a New Zealand educational institute.
• Practical software development experience in C#, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
• Familiarity with linear algebra and geometry math principles applied to 3D graphics.
• Experience using CAD or 3D graphics design software.

Preferred Skills

• Experience or interest in computation/parametric modelling for architecture, construction, or product design.
• Usage of JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Working understanding of Linux environments and platform.
• Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
• Experience in software testing, QA, or using GitHub/source control systems.
• Experience creating 3D experiences using gaming, VR, or AR technologies.
• Ability to author technical documentation.
