Description

You will manage, scale, and administer the Confluent Cloud and Kafka platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, deploy, and maintain the Confluent Cloud and Kafka platform.
• Build automation for installation, patching, and platform restarts.
• Partner with architecture to align platform practices with modern standards.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and troubleshoot production defects.
• Create technical documentation to enable team execution.

Required Skills

• 5+ years in platform engineering and middleware management.
• 3+ years installing, configuring, and administering Confluent Cloud or Kafka.
• 3+ years with UNIX and Linux operating systems, storage, file systems, and network protocols.
• 3+ years in production support for Confluent or Kafka, including troubleshooting.
• 3+ years applying DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns.
• 3+ years with Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems using messaging platforms.
• Proficiency using GitHub or comparable code repositories.
• Experience with Linux commands and tools to parse and evaluate log files.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with application profiling using Dynatrace, VisualVM, or JProfiler.
• Experience with JVM performance tuning, web containers, and DB connection pools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Agile delivery, and Release Engineering.
