Key Skills & Experience

1. Confluent & Kafka Ecosystem

• Strong hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and its ecosystem, including:
  • Kafka Connect
  • ksqlDB
  • Apache Flink
  • Schema Registry
  • Confluent Tableflow
• Experience working with Confluent Cloud services.

2. Self-Hosted Confluent Platform Architecture

• Experience designing and managing self-hosted Confluent Platform architectures.
• Hands-on exposure to:
  • Kubernetes-based deployments
  • Manifest YAMLs and GitOps tools (ArgoCD)
  • Platform security (LDAP, mTLS . SASL)
  • High Availability (HA), scalability, and fault-tolerant setups.

3. CI/CD & Automation

• Experience with Terraform and GitHub pipelines for CI/CD automation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment strategies.

4. Programming & Custom Development

• Good working knowledge of Python and Java.
• Experience building and maintaining custom Kafka connectors or extensions is a strong plus.

5. Solution Design & Architecture

• Proven experience in solution design for event-driven and real-time streaming use cases.
• Ability to design systems that are:
  • Highly available
  • Scalable
  • Fault-tolerant
  • High-throughput

6. Observability & Monitoring

• Experience with observability and monitoring stacks, including:
  • Splunk and Grafana dashboards
  • Azure Monitor
  • Log Analytics
  • OTEL (Open Telemetry )
  • Prometheus
• Ability to define operational metrics, alerts, and monitoring strategies.

7. Azure Cloud Exposure

• Good exposure to Azure cloud services, including:
  • Basic networking concepts
  • Azure Blob Storage
  • Azure Container Registry (ACR)
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Nice to Have

• Experience working in enterprise-scale data platforms
• Exposure to analytics engines (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
