Description

You will design, build, and manage self-hosted and cloud-based Confluent Platform architectures, ensuring high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance for event-driven systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy self-hosted Confluent Platform solutions on Kubernetes using ArgoCD and GitOps practices.
• Implement CI/CD automation pipelines with Terraform and GitHub Actions for infrastructure-as-code.
• Develop custom Kafka connectors and extensions using Python and Java.
• Configure platform security including LDAP, mTLS, and SASL, and manage high-availability setups.
• Define and implement observability strategies using Splunk, Grafana, Azure Monitor, and OpenTelemetry.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Confluent Kafka ecosystem, including Kafka Connect, ksqlDB, Apache Flink, and Schema Registry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Confluent Cloud services and self-hosted platform management.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes deployments, including Manifest YAMLs and GitOps tools.
• Experience with CI/CD automation using Terraform and GitHub.
• Programming skills in Python and Java, with a focus on custom connector development.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services, including AKS, Blob Storage, and Container Registry.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, and Log Analytics.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics engines like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
