Description

Design, develop, and maintain API proxies and flows within the IBM API Connect platform.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Create and configure API proxies, including policy implementation and GatewayScript callouts.
• Design API flows and user-defined policies to handle transformations between API contracts using XSLT, JSON, and XML.
• Implement API security, authentication, and authorization patterns within an enterprise environment.
• Troubleshoot proxies and perform root cause identification using tracing technologies.
• Provide technical guidance to project team members and stakeholders while proactively recommending solutions for identified issues.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience designing and developing API proxies, policies, and flows within IBM API Connect.
• Hands-on experience implementing APIs, transformations, mediation, and security in IBM API Connect.
• Proficiency with Java and GatewayScript callout policies.
• Experience implementing RESTful API designs using JSON and XML.
• Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Ability to work effectively in customer-led teams.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEAM field.
