Description

You will lead Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) development for consumer electronics within the Augmented and Virtual Reality space.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop proprietary hardware styles, construction details, material combinations, and new production techniques.
• Gather and share market trends across consumer electronics, eyewear, and fashion industries.
• Develop fully resolved CMF strategies for presentation to internal teams, partners, and manufacturers.
• Resolve design, prototyping, and manufacturing challenges during the development phase.
• Manage and maintain CMF product specifications from initial concept through to production.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience working as a CMF Designer or Developer.
• Proven track record of shipping products in Consumer Electronics, Wearable Technology, Fashion, or Eyewear.
• Proficiency in communicating design vision and concepts using 2D color renderings and 2D CAD.
• Working knowledge of plastic injection molding and metal fabrication techniques.
• Experience with resin development, coating technologies, and plastics decoration processes.
• Knowledge of fabrics and textiles.
• Ability to perform occasional domestic and international travel.
• Bachelors of Industrial Design from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with 3D CAD and visualization.
• Expertise in industry trend forecasting.
