Description

Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/Vert.x backend and data-ingestion services on GCP.

• Build and support data ingestion into Lumi from enterprise databases and upstream systems.

• Develop reactive, asynchronous microservices and REST APIs for distributed systems.

• Implement event-driven processing using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.

• Build resilient ingestion flows with validation, error handling, retries, monitoring, and recovery.

• Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Own development through testing, code review, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.

• Use AI-assisted development tools appropriately to improve engineering productivity and quality. 

• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, architecture, and platform teams in Agile delivery

Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience ingesting data into Lumi from a database.

• 6+ years of strong Java backend development experience; strong Java + GCP skills

. • Strong hands-on experience with Vert.x and reactive/non-blocking programming.

• Solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging/event-streaming platforms.

• Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and scalable backend/data-ingestion services.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.

• Strong problem-solving, communication, Agile collaboration, and team-player skills.

• Ability to work from the Phoenix office at least 3 days per week
