Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Couchbase DevOps & SRE Engineer to lead the design, operation, and scaling of highly available Couchbase database infrastructure. This role requires a blend of deep Couchbase administration expertise with strong DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and automation capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable Couchbase clusters across multi-node, multi-zone environments.
• Manage cluster operations — rebalancing, failover, scaling, patching, and XDCR configuration.
• Perform capacity planning, bucket sizing, memory optimization, and storage management for Couchbase.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both application and Couchbase infrastructure deployments.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation for cluster provisioning and configuration management.
• Automate rolling upgrades, patching, and zero-downtime deployments to ensure continuous availability.
• Define and implement SRE practices — SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reliability objectives.
• Identify operational toil and build automation solutions to eliminate manual Couchbase and platform tasks.
• Automate backup, restore, XDCR setup, and cluster health validation processes.
• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for cluster health, N1QL performance, replication lag, and memory pressure using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Lead incident response, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and preventive actions for Couchbase production issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive operational runbooks and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Manage Couchbase Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), TLS/SSL, audit logging, and encryption at rest.
• Enforce stringent security hardening standards across all Couchbase environments.

Required Skills:

• Deep expertise in Couchbase administration and operations.
• Strong background in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting systems such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Knowledge of N1QL performance optimization.
• Experience with Couchbase security features including RBAC, TLS/SSL, audit logging, and encryption.
• Skills in Digital : DevOps, Digital : NOSQL, Digital : Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of relevant experience
