Description

Lead the installation, commissioning, and implementation of material distribution systems. Own the technical delivery of controls projects from design to deployment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite teams through installation and commissioning of new and retrofit systems.
• Develop standardized code sets and scratch-build PLC, VFD, and HMI programs.
• Oversee multiple simultaneous controls projects to ensure technical accuracy and on-time deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales to design and quote automation systems.
• Provide remote and onsite support for complex systems and mentor junior team members.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of industrial experience with deep knowledge of standard programming platforms.
• Extensive experience with Siemens Step 7 Classic, TIA Portal, and Rockwell programming software.
• Proficiency in PLC programming languages including ladder, FBD, STL, and SCL.
• Expertise in HMI, VFD, and PLC systems for fully automated warehouse environments.
• Practical experience with electrical/controls engineering and electrical installations.
• Ability to create controls designs from scratch and debug complex PLC code.
• Knowledge of warehouse distribution systems such as pallet/tote conveyors, storage/retrieval machines, and monorail systems.
• Familiarity with electrical/mechanical standards and best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Siemens Certified Programmer (SIMATIC S7 with STEP7 v5 or TIA Portal).
• Experience with Industrial Ethernet, field buses (PROFIBUS, ASi, DeviceNET), or industrial wireless networks.
• Familiarity with EPLAN, AutoCAD-E, or VFD OEMs like SEW, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or Kuka.
