Description

You will architect and support enterprise data platforms, focusing on SQL Server and Power BI implementations for customers in Canada.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Power BI solutions, including Embedded scenarios, complex DAX calculations, and custom visuals.
• Architect SQL Server environments for high availability and disaster recovery using Failover Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis.
• Manage data migrations and modernization efforts to Azure and other public cloud environments.
• Provide enterprise-level technical support, training, and consulting for data platform customers.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in data platform architecture and enterprise administration.
• Expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and solution design.
• Advanced proficiency in DAX, Power Query M language, and data modeling.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server (2012+), including T-SQL, performance tuning, and partitioning.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Failover Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts and database schema management.
• Experience managing SQL Server on IaaS within Azure or other public clouds (AWS).
• Ability to perform SQL code reviews and dissect query plans.
• Experience with data connectivity across tSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Azure, and AWS.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQLDB, SQLDB Managed Instance, and Azure Synapse.
