Description

You will own daily security monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response support for utility peers and internal systems. You ensure malicious activity is identified, analyzed, and escalated appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily cybersecurity activity via security tools to classify events as malignant or benign and engage stakeholders as required.
• Analyze malware samples and escalate findings to incident response teams for deeper investigation.
• Conduct baseline threat hunting using intelligence from utility peers and external sources to proactively identify risks.
• Perform forensic analysis on phishing cases and potential compromise reports to determine the source of anomalous events.
• Execute complex system administration tasks for security tools, including customization and cross-tool integration.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations or analysis.
• Proficient in using security monitoring tools and SIEM platforms for threat detection.
• Strong ability to perform malware analysis and forensic investigation.
• Experience with threat hunting methodologies and intelligence-driven security practices.
• Competency in system administration, including tool customization and integration.
• Ability to conduct independent research and develop departmental implementation strategies.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting utility sector clients or critical infrastructure environments.
• Background in developing security tooling or automation scripts for monitoring workflows.
