Description

You will advise on North American information security and data privacy legal requirements within third-party contracts, including negotiating federal, state, and international regulatory terms.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and advise on contractual terms to ensure compliance with security and data privacy laws.
• Develop, update, and counsel stakeholders on the use of security and data privacy template contracts.
• Advise business teams on implementing privacy and security by design, including encryption and multifactor authentication requirements.
• Provide guidance on restrictions for surveillance, monitoring electronic communications, and the use of tracking or profiling tools like cookies.
• Update contractual frameworks to reflect changes in business needs and evolving regulatory landscapes.

Required Skills

• Hold at least a J.D. Law Degree or foreign equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in legal compliance related to information security and data privacy.
• Microsoft Certified Professional Certification.
• Deep understanding of North American federal, state, and international data privacy regulations.
• Experience negotiating third-party contracts involving security and privacy clauses.
• Knowledge of surveillance and monitoring restrictions in electronic communications.
• Ability to advise on tracking and profiling technologies such as cookies.
