Description

  • We are seeking a Cyber Data Consumption & Enablement Specialist to drive adoption, accessibility, and business value realization of the Cyber Data Lake. This is an internal customer-facing role that serves as the bridge between the Cyber Data Lake platform and its consumers, helping teams transform cyber telemetry into actionable security, compliance, operational, and business insights.
  • The successful candidate will partner with cybersecurity, product security, engineering, audit, compliance, and analytics stakeholders to help them discover, access, understand, analyze, and operationalize available datasets. This role owns the consumer experience after data has been onboarded and made available in the platform.
  • This position focuses on data consumption, user enablement, analytics support, operational data quality monitoring, and platform adoption. Data source intake, onboarding governance, connector implementation, onboarding approvals, and data governance processes are owned by the Cyber Specialist – Cyber Data Onboarding & Governance role and are not part of this position.
  • The new role is focused on enabling to effectively consume, analyze, and operationalize security logs and telemetry for monitoring, detection, investigation, reporting, and assurance use cases.

Role Context

  • Work breakdown: 40% Supporting Teams, 25% Analytics & Reporting, 20% Data Quality & Issue Resolution, 15% Stakeholder Meetings & Collaboration
  • Stakeholders: Product teams, engineering, SOC, compliance.
  • 90-day success: established strong relationships with key cybersecurity stakeholders, enabled priority teams to effectively use Cyber Data Lake data, and demonstrated measurable improvements in data utilization, reporting, or security monitoring outcomes.

Role Summary: 

  • This is essentially a Cybersecurity Data Engineer / Cyber Data Platform Engineer role. The person will help build and support an enterprise cybersecurity data lake, onboard security teams and data sources, troubleshoot data issues, and support cyber detection and analytics.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Build and support an enterprise Cybersecurity Data Lake
  • Support cybersecurity detection and security operations
  • Onboard cybersecurity teams and data sources into the data lake
  • Work with Splunk, ETL, Microsoft Sentinel, and ELK
  • Troubleshoot issues within the cyber data lake
  • Work with SIEM platforms
  • Resolve data quality and ingestion issues
  • Support analytics, reporting, and dashboards
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, security operations, analytics, and business team
