Description

You will manage metadata and data governance functions for the Office of Data Governance and Analytics in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the business glossary, data catalog, and data taxonomy.
• Document data lineage from creation to output to ensure usability and business alignment.
• Identify critical data elements and capture associated metadata in collaboration with solution designers.
• Perform metadata and data quality audits, resolving inconsistencies and reporting progress.
• Utilize JIRA to track tasks and provide progress updates to stakeholders.

Required Skills

• 1-2 years of experience working as a data analyst.
• Proficiency with SQL and understanding of data and systems infrastructure.
• Experience collecting, organizing, and managing data using Purview or Azure Information Protection.
• Hands-on experience with metadata management and data inventory.
• Knowledge of data labeling and classification standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to pass a fingerprint background check and adhere to confidentiality requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Azure or data-related certifications.
• Experience in big-data environments or data security.
• Knowledge of data governance and security practices.
