Description

You will own the administration, optimization, and security of cloud data platforms, specifically Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery. Your focus is on ensuring high availability, performance, and cost efficiency for analytics workloads.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery environments, implementing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Handle user access, security controls, and ensure compliance with data governance standards.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost monitoring to optimize resource usage.
• Collaborate on scalable data warehouse design, including partitioning, clustering, and distribution strategies.
• Build scripts and automation for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines.

Required Skills

• 7-8+ years of experience as a DBA, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst with database administration exposure.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift and Google BigQuery.
• Strong SQL skills with deep expertise in query optimization.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Airflow, Talend, or similar.
• Knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud environments.
• Understanding of data security and access control practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
