Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and maintain data pipelines for Retail POS data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Extract, cleanse, validate, and analyze large retail transaction datasets.
• Design and maintain data models, data warehouses, and reporting solutions.
• Build dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Analyze sales, inventory, pricing, promotions, customer behavior, and store performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across POS systems.
• Optimize SQL queries and database performance.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, and retail operations teams to deliver data-driven solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with SQL (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, SSIS, Talend, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.
• Hands-on experience with Retail POS systems and retail transaction data.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes, including sales, inventory, pricing, promotions, returns, and customer transactions.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data processing is a plus.
• Experience with Git and Agile development methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer.
• Experience working in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods environments.
• Knowledge of POS platforms such as Oracle Retail, NCR, Toshiba, Square, Clover, Shopify POS, or Lightspeed POS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
