Description

You will build and maintain data pipelines and analytics solutions for retail POS systems, turning transaction data into actionable business insights.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming large-scale retail transaction data.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance for relational databases.
• Build dashboards and reports using BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to track sales, inventory, and customer behavior.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across POS systems and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools: Informatica, SSIS, Talend, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with relational databases: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data warehousing concepts.
• Proficiency in visualization tools: Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data processing.
• Experience with Git and Agile development methodologies.
• Understanding of retail business processes (sales, inventory, pricing, promotions).

Preferred Skills

• Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods environments.
• Knowledge of specific POS platforms (Oracle Retail, NCR, Square, Shopify POS, etc.).
