Description

You will analyze network and firewall data to identify security risks and performance trends, owning the full lifecycle of network security reporting from data extraction to stakeholder presentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firewall logs and network traffic to detect anomalies, blocked traffic spikes, and suspicious outbound connections.
• Build automated dashboards and reports covering allowed vs. denied traffic, top IPs, threat categories, and policy hit counts.
• Clean, normalize, and transform large volumes of log data using SQL and Python.
• Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks to support ongoing monitoring and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to validate findings and improve data quality and logging standards.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years as a Network Engineer followed by Data or Security Analyst roles.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, NAT, routing, ports, and protocols.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language, with Python preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Sentinel, or Elastic.
• Ability to interpret large datasets to identify trends and translate technical findings into business insights.
• Experience analyzing firewall logs and network traffic patterns.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with firewall platforms including Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Check Point.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or MITRE ATT&CK.
